What This Pack Does
You published a YouTube video. Now these 2 skills turn it into content across every platform:
/create-shorts - Extract vertical shorts from your long-form video
/post - Create native posts for LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook
Both work from the same source video.
Skill 1: Create Shorts
/create-shorts ~/Videos/my-latest-video.mp4
Takes a long-form video and automatically extracts the best standalone clips as vertical shorts (1080x1920) with word-by-word captions and branding. Ready to upload to YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok.
How It Works
Uses 3 AI services, each doing what it's best at:
- Deepgram transcribes the full video with word-level timing
- Gemini classifies each frame as talking-head or screen-share (vertical shorts work better with talking-head segments)
- Claude reads the transcript and picks the best standalone moments - 30-60 second segments that contain a complete, valuable thought
Then FFmpeg extracts each clip and Remotion renders them as vertical videos with:
- Your branding banner at the top
- Full 16:9 video in the center (letterboxed, nothing cropped)
- Word-by-word captions at the bottom (current word highlighted)
What Claude Looks For in Clips
- 30-60 seconds each
- Clean sentence boundaries (no mid-sentence cuts)
- Complete, standalone thought (no context needed from earlier)
- No intros, outros, or "subscribe" pitches
- Prefers talking-head segments
Customization
You can customize the look by editing your Remotion project:
- Banner text and styling (YouTubeBanner component)
- Caption colors and position (Caption component)
- Brand colors (COLORS object in types.ts)
Tips
- Use video files without background music for cleaner transcription
- If clips have bad boundaries, it's usually an audio quality issue
- If it keeps selecting screen-share segments, your video is mostly screen-share - the skill works with what's available
Skill 2: Post (Social Media Manager)
/post repurpose my latest YouTube video to LinkedIn and X
/post linkedin about how I automated my content pipeline with AI
/post instagram carousel from https://youtube.com/watch?v=abc123
Creates and publishes social media posts. Each platform gets completely native content - not the same text everywhere.
How It Works
- Reads your brand voice file for consistent tone
- If you give it a URL, it extracts the content via Blotato API
- Generates platform-specific drafts:
- LinkedIn: thought-leadership format, hook-story-takeaway-CTA, 800-1500 chars, 3-5 hashtags
- X: casual and punchy, under 280 chars, 0-2 hashtags
- Instagram: educational carousel (7 slides with your profile pic on first and last)
- Facebook: community-oriented, 500-1000 chars
- Generates visuals via Gemini (carousel slides, post images)
- Saves everything as drafts for your review
- Publishes ONLY after you approve
Important: It NEVER auto-publishes. Always drafts first, shows you, waits for approval.
What Makes It Good
- Each platform gets different text (no copy-paste)
- Instagram carousels are actual image slides, not text posts
- Your brand voice file controls the tone across all platforms
- Blotato handles all API connections to your social accounts
- Published log tracks what went where and when
Tips
- The brand voice file is the most important thing. Be specific about your tone, vocabulary, and phrases you avoid
- If posts sound generic, add more detail to your brand voice file - include examples of posts you liked
- If Instagram carousel images look wrong, check your profile picture is in the brand_picture/ folder
How They Work Together
- Publish your YouTube video
- Run /create-shorts to extract vertical clips for Shorts, Reels, TikTok
- Run /post to create native posts for LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook
One long-form video becomes 5-10+ pieces of content across all platforms.
