Before we dive deeper, I want to give you a quick overview of the three lead generation methods we focus on inside this program. There are dozens of ways to get clients, but most of them are too expensive, or too unpredictable when you’re just getting started.

After testing many approaches — both in my own agency and with students — these three methods consistently produce the fastest results with the lowest risk.

Here they are:

  • Cold Email
  • Upwork
  • Content Creation

The first two are outbound — you reach out to them.

The third is inbound — they reach out to you.

1. Cold Email — fast, scalable, direct

Cold email is one of the quickest ways to start conversations with real businesses. The success rate will always be low, but that’s normal. What matters is that it scales.

Inside the program, I’ll show you how to:

  • source thousands of leads affordably
  • write simple emails that get replies
  • avoid deliverability problems
  • run low-cost outreach without burning your domain

Cold email works because it gives you quick feedback and real conversations fast. It’s an important skill because it builds your resilience and teaches you how to talk to businesses — which is essential for everything else you’ll do.

2. Upwork — the fastest path to your first paying client

Upwork is one of the easiest places to get your first client — no matter what you’ve heard. Clients on Upwork already know what they want, they have a budget, and they’re actively searching for someone to hire right now. That removes most of the friction you get from cold outreach.

Your job on Upwork is straightforward:

  • build a clear, trustworthy profile
  • apply to the right jobs
  • write targeted, simple proposals
  • follow a consistent weekly routine

The cost per application is tiny, which means you can start without spending hundreds on software. For most people, their first $1,000–$3,000 project comes from Upwork simply because the platform is full of high-intent buyers. We’ll go step-by-step through how to stand out and how to automate parts of the process so you can apply 5–10x more efficiently than the average freelancer.

3. Content Creation — inbound leads + long-term leverage

Content creation is where things start to flip. Instead of you chasing clients, clients start reaching out to you. This is inbound, and it’s one of the most powerful forms of lead generation because the trust is built before the conversation even starts.

By the time someone contacts you from your content, they usually already know:

  • the problem they have
  • that you know how to solve it
  • and that you’re the person they want to work with

These are the easiest deals you’ll ever close.

But content also gives you something far more valuable: leverage. Naval Ravikant talks about four types of leverage — labor, capital, code, and media. Media is one of the strongest because it scales infinitely without your time. You post once, and it can bring opportunities for years.

Content gives you:

  • inbound traffic
  • credibility
  • relationships
  • and long-term leverage

And you don’t need to become an influencer. This is not about “being a content creator.” It’s about using media to amplify your business. Content forces you to clarify your thinking and explain ideas clearly — which actually makes you better at what you do.

In the beginning, you might get 50 views. That’s normal. Those 50 turn into 500, then 5,000, and eventually your calendar starts filling on its own. This is the long-term play. It’s slow at first, but the compounding effect is massive.

Why These Three?

These three methods cover everything you need:

  • Cold email gives you volume and fast learning.
  • Upwork gives you the quickest path to a paying client.
  • Content gives you long-term inbound and leverage.

Together, they build a system that brings clients today, clients next week, and clients long after the program.

We’ll break each one down step-by-step in the next modules. You don’t need to master all three at once — the roadmap will guide you exactly in the order you should follow.

Let’s get into it.
