YouTube Content (7 skills)
Part 1: What You're Getting
This pack gives you 7 Claude Code skills that handle your entire YouTube video creation pipeline. Here's what each one does and what you need to make it work.
Research Brief
Searches YouTube for the top 20 videos on your topic. Pulls titles, view counts, thumbnails, and viewer comments. Then analyzes everything to find what's working, what viewers are frustrated about, and where the content gaps are. Outputs a structured research brief you can use to plan your video.
You need: YOUTUBE_API_KEY (free from Google Cloud Console)
Write Script
Writes a complete YouTube video script with multiple hook options, retention architecture, B-roll cues, and diagram markers. It reads your brand voice and example scripts so the output sounds like you, not generic AI.
You need: A brand voice file describing your tone and vocabulary. An identity file with your background. 1-3 example scripts from videos you've already published. The more examples you give it, the better it matches your voice.
Generate Title
Analyzes competitor titles to find which ones dramatically outperformed their channel average. Extracts the patterns that made them work. Then generates 3 title options scored on clickability, clarity, content alignment, thumbnail synergy, and uniqueness.
You need: A research brief (from the skill above) for best results. Works without one too.
YouTube Thumbnail
Generates 4 completely different professional thumbnail variations using Gemini AI, plus a 2x2 comparison grid. You pick your favorite and iterate.
You need: GEMINI_API_KEY (free from Google AI Studio). A headshot photo of yourself (shoulders-up, clear face, good lighting). Optionally: SCRAPECREATORS_API_KEY for studying high-performing thumbnails in your niche.
Generate Diagrams
Creates hand-drawn whiteboard-style diagrams from your video script. Reads [DIAGRAM] markers in the script and generates each one as a cohesive illustration in a pastel, sketch-like style.
You need: GEMINI_API_KEY. 2-5 reference screenshots showing the diagram style you want (hand-drawn, pastel, whiteboard aesthetic). Your headshot for character illustrations.
YouTube Analytics
Pulls your channel data and generates an interactive HTML dashboard you open in your browser. Shows view trends, posting patterns, top/bottom videos, and competitor comparisons.
You need: YOUTUBE_API_KEY. YOUTUBE_CHANNEL_ID (find at youtube.com/account_advanced).
Cross-Niche Outliers
Finds viral content patterns across different YouTube niches. Helps you spot title and thumbnail formulas that work regardless of topic. Use it when planning your content calendar.
You need: YOUTUBE_API_KEY.
Part 2: Copy-Paste This Into Claude Code
Copy everything below and paste it into Claude Code. It will install the skills and walk you through setting everything up.
I want you to install and set up the YouTube Content Creation skill pack. Here's what to do:
Step 1 - Install the skills:
Run these commands:
git clone https://github.com/bohdan-aif/cc-youtube-content.git /tmp/cc-youtube-content
cd /tmp/cc-youtube-content && ./install.sh --all
Step 2 - Check my API keys:
Check if I have these environment variables set: YOUTUBE_API_KEY, GEMINI_API_KEY, YOUTUBE_CHANNEL_ID, SCRAPECREATORS_API_KEY (optional).
For any that are missing, tell me where to get them and help me add them to my ~/.zshrc (or ~/.bashrc).
Step 3 - Check dependencies:
Make sure I have these installed: python3, pip package google-api-python-client, ffmpeg. Install anything missing.
Step 4 - Set up my brand files:
The write-script skill needs personal files to match my voice. Help me create:
- A brand_voice.md file - ask me about my tone, vocabulary, phrases I use, phrases I avoid, and my typical CTA. Write it for me based on my answers.
- An identity.md file - ask me about my name, role, expertise, unique angle, and business context. Write it for me.
- Ask me to provide 1-3 example scripts from videos I've published. If I have them, help me place them in the right directory.
Step 5 - Set up thumbnail assets:
Ask me for a headshot photo (shoulders-up, clear face). Help me place it in ~/.claude/skills/youtube-thumbnail/assets/headshots/
Step 6 - Set up diagram references:
Ask me if I have example screenshots of the diagram style I want. If yes, help me place them in ~/.claude/skills/generate-diagrams/assets/references/. If no, explain that the skill works best with 2-5 reference images showing the whiteboard aesthetic I'm going for.
Step 7 - Verify everything works:
Run a quick test: python3 ~/.claude/skills/research-brief/scripts/research_brief.py "test topic" --max-videos 3 to confirm the YouTube API key works.
After setup, give me a summary of what's installed and ready to use, and list any skills that need more setup from me.
