3. Set up AI personalization workflow

These days, you absolutely must use personalization if you want cold emails to work.

There was a time when you could get away with copy-pasting generic templates and blasting them to everyone. That time is gone. Prospects are getting dozens of emails per week. If your outreach feels generic or lazy, it dies instantly.

But if your outreach feels thoughtful, specific, and relevant, that one small tweak changes everything.

**What Personalization Actually Is **

Personalization is simply using publicly available context to make your outreach feel warm instead of cold.

Instead of:

Hey Alex, I help businesses with AI automation. Here’s my offer…

You start with something like:

*Hey Alex — saw your interview on how you expanded into SF. Huge move, congrats on the hire! *

Nothing fancy.

Just a one-sentence opener that proves you did your homework.

How Personalization Works Step-By-Step

Personalization is not emotional magic — it’s a workflow. The workflow looks like this:

  1. Scrape leads …with as much context as possible (bio, about page, website description, job title, LinkedIn posts, etc.)
  2. Send that context to AI
  3. AI generates an opener This becomes a variable called {{personalization}} or {{icebreaker}}.
  4. Use that variable at the start of your email The rest of the email is templated — only the first line is hyper-personalized.

This turns cold outreach into:

“Damn, they actually checked me out.”

Example email

Email template:

{{personalization}}

I run Bosar Agency - we build AI call setters for SMM agencies.

I can guarantee 10–15 qualified sales calls booked for your agency in the next 26 days — or you don’t pay anything. I’ll set the whole system up myself.

If you’re open to it, reply “yes” and I’ll get everything ready.

And if you’re skeptical — totally fair. You can just google Bo Sar and check out our website and YouTube first.

Thanks,
Bo Sar

And {{personalization}} becomes something like:

“Hey Dan — love your podcast. The episode about growing your team without burning them out really hit me.”

If you received that email — and it was actually true and relevant — you’d read the rest.

Because the person earned 5 seconds of your attention.

The Honest Reality

If your email starts generic, you already lost.

No subject line, no “quick question,” no magical offer will fix that.

Personalization is the 20% effort that gets 80% of the results.

And the best part, we’re not doing it manually.

We’re going to build an automation that:

  • reads the scraped profile
  • extracts context
  • feeds it to AI
  • generates an intro
  • puts it into a new column in your spreadsheet

Your task today

Import my n8n workflow (or build your own from scratch) and apply it to your prospect list so that you end up with an updated sheet with a new column containing AI-generated personalization for each prospect.
